Chocolate and berry superpowers smoothie!

Happy international women’s day ladies!

Women’s day is awesome, and therefore I created a perfect dreamy smoothie for breakfast today, full of super foods for all the superwomen out there. I blended my quinoa leftovers ( I love doing this) which are an amazing source of protein with shia seeds, maca powder to keep you strong and energized, avocado which makes the texture soft and creamy and is full of fibers and healthy fats, a little bit of peanut butter to give it a nutty taste, some coconut milk( not the creamy one, but the one that has the same texture as other non dairy milks) and my favorite super food chocolate!

Ingredients

Quinoa leftovers

A tablespoon shia seeds

A teaspoon maca powder

Half avocado

A little bit peanutbutter ( I used a big teaspoon, but it’s all up to you how nutty you like the taste)

A tablespoon raw cocoa powder

Coconut milk (use as much as you like to make the texture more or less liquid)

You can ad a bit honey to give it some sweetness.

Topped with raspberries

I honestly eat chocolate almost everyday! I love love loooove it! It has so many healthy benefits; a small amount of dark or raw chocolate can help lower your blood pressure and improves blood flow which may help prevent the formation of blood clots. It also contains several chemical compounds that have a positive effect on your mood and cognitive health. Chocolate contains phenylethylamine (PEA) , this is the same chemical that your brain creates when you feel like you’re falling in love. As PEA encourages your brain to release endorphins, eating this delicious super food will make you feel happier. Isn’t that sweet?! But chocolate contains so much more good stuff for your health like antioxidants which make your skin glow and and fights oxidative stress, it helps control blood sugar, it’s high in vitamins and minerals especially iron and magnesium which helps prevent type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and heart diseases. It also contains theobromine which has been shown to harder tooth enamel, this means that dark chocolate or cocoa powder (without sugar of course) actually lowers your risk of getting cavities unlike most other sweets if you practice proper dental hygiene.

Researchers at Harvard University found out that eating chocolate actually added two years to your life expectancy!

So chocolate is really healthy, tastes like heaven and makes you a happy being! No wonder why SO many ladies around the world have chocolate cravings and even the really petit mademoiselles eat a small piece of good dark chocolate everyday.

Have a beautiful day.
